In the last weeks we’ve been busy with Dzogchen classes for kids and school readings.

It was wonderful to stream into the philosophy class for kids in Year One (6 years olds) at Erasmus Primary school in Melbourne, Australia for an interactive reading of ‘Where is Mind?’, ‘Strong Mind’ and ‘Ben Pot and the Stormy Feelings’.
It was touching to see the responsiveness when asked the various questions in the books. When identifying what is mind, the kids were prompted to stop thinking for a moment and share what remains? Answers ranged from ‘calmness and stillness’, to ‘shooting stars’, or ‘a land of green grass with big stones’ 💓🧘🏽♀️💓 Kids whispered to Ben Pot to remember to relax in mind for a short moment when his stormy feelings were telling him to squish his friends!

It was clear by the last book that it is definitely mind that decides what to do and not stormy feelings as otherwise our days would be very messy! It was very insightful to explore how mind is filled with kindness and wisdom, with the children! It is clear the books form a curriculum for young children to beginning Mind education, so very touching to work with Erasmus Primary school philosophy teacher on developing this offering 💫💓🧘🏽♀️💓💫
We have a weekly Dzogchen class for kids aged 2-8 every second Wednesday at 10am PT and every second Sunday at 10:30am PT, See more details here https://www.shortmomentsforkids.com/kids-group

This is so great to make available for children. My 13 year old granddaughter is just beginning a version of the 12 Empowerments. I’m assuming I was invited to join this group because of that, but am wondering about the age disparity. Chloé is just completing One Simple Change and has written a value letter for every chapter—so I would like to know if there is support for her age group—or anything you would suggest regarding how to interact with this resource. Thank you!
