Dive into Lucy Diamond's StoryIn the video below Celine dives into our second book in the Pearl Collection ‘Lucy' Choice: Happy Lane and Whiny Lane’ https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXJtVkSDZBJ/ |

In this book Lucy doesn't get a cookie.. and this brings up so many stormy feelings...
Lucy sees she has a choice; Happy Lane or Whiny Lane?
First Lucy needs to stir all of the stormy feelings in whiny Lane..
Then Lucy naturally relaxes for a short moment.
This is like walking through a secret door!
Lucy finds all the stormy feelings settle
and she sees clearly what to do, like from a mountain top.
Ideas and solutions arise
How can you bring the story to life?
Sing the 'Lucy Diamond' Song:
Sing the song with your child as you turn each page! See the melody below
Make a Stormy Feelings Bottle!
Here's 'stormy feelings bottles’ we made after story telling...
Filled with sparkles and sequins, shake it and watch the stormy feelings stir!
Then watch them all settle, revealing clear water, like our clear mind.
You can make a "Stormy Feelings Bottle' too! What you need is:
🫙🍾a plastic or glass bottle, or a lovely small bottle like in the gif below,
✨🌟🌀🌩️inside you can insert: glitter, sequins, shiny things to represent all of the stormy feelings, positive and negative
🧴💦 a little glycerin for the liquid to move in a more gloopy way,
💧💧💧3/4 water.
🫧🧼a few drops of clear dishwashing soap.
🎨🖌️👩🏾🎨You can decorate the bottle if you like.

Enjoy shaking your stormy feelings bottle!
Watch all the stormy feelings swirl and dance!
and watch the sediments settle slowly...
It is a meditation in itself to watch everything settle
and shows the child somatically how to rest in our clear mind when stormy feeling appear!
Make a Paper Whiny Lane
You can ask the children in your care to show you their stormy feelings by drawing them on a big piece of paper.

They can draw, scribble, and even rip the paper and scrunch it up.
Allowing the stormy feelings to be expressed and represented, allows the children to see they have agency and can choose how to respond when the stormy feelings appear.
